Port Fairy Regatta - Dec 3-4, 2016
Great Sailing on the Saturday with 2 races run in the afternoon in an increasing southerly. Andrew Pearce, Mark Knights and Johno Knights did the club proud with both Andrew and Johno taking out some race podium finishers. Mark not too far behind. Sunday was a little light on for wind but with a northerly wind predicted to hit with a front, race organizers were keen to get as many races run and get competitors off the water incase the high winds swept through.
Two races were run in light condition and a third was started but eventually was called off due to lack of wind. Most entertainment for the Sunday was some close quarters action of a pod of dolphins with tail slapping as they chased each other in and around the fleet. Within touching distance at times for some of the front boats. At the end, some boats had to get towed ashore.
Well run event as per last year. Well done Port Fairy Yacht Club. Great hospitality :)
