The Stawell Yacht Club was founded as a combined sail and powerboat club in 1954 on Lake Fyans at the foothills of the Grampian Ranges, which provide unique panoramic mountain views from both the clubhouse and lake.
Sailing activity was curtailed during the recent drought years, but is now undergoing a healthy resurgence.
Facilities include covered barbecue shelter with tables and seating and a shower-toilet block.
The club has produced many accomplished sailors, most notably Noel Grellet, a multiple title holder in the Mosquito and Taipan classes.
There is a growing fleet of six Impulses in the club, but other classes sailed include 125, Laser and Taipan.
